In addition to capturing the jubilant high spirits of the Allen Carman Project’s latest blast of dazzling, horn-fired elegant funk, the title of their single “Joy Jam” perfectly reflects the consistent feel-good vibes, punchy grooves, masterful musicianship and colorful camaraderie of the ensemble’s music since its 2019 debut album CARMANOLOGY. In celebration of their enduring Tampa, FL roots, the core trio of Carman (who snags a poppin’ bass solo), Grammy nominated keyboardist Philippe Saisse (who also wrote, orchestrated and co-produced) and percussionist/co-producer Gumbi Ortiz invited top musicians to participate, including prominently featured saxman Kenny Anderson.
